We often spend much of our time and energy fulfilling the daily responsibilities asked of us from our families, careers, households, relationships, etc. It's no wonder, especially for those of us who are entrenched in the world of high-tech jobs and Silicon Valley costs of living, that after a full day of “doing” we could use a lot more personal time for “being and dreaming”.
The gift of time, the gift of space, the gift of solitude. These are some of the most priceless gifts the soul could enjoy. It is in times of solitude and stillness that we get to hear the voice of our soul, the gentle guidance it gives us when we are faced with choices in life, along with the sweet nudges it gives us when we stray off the paths of our authenticity and divine purpose.
How much time have you spent with yourself this past year, asking your heart what it needs, what it wants in life? Do you know what really makes you feel joyful and fulfilled? To take it to an even larger scale, what would you choose for yourself if failure was not an option? If for but a moment, “not succeeding” disappeared completely from existence and you could achieve anything you desired?
When we become frustrated by our perceived lack of getting what we want or having our desires materialize, it often helps to take a step back and check in with ourselves: do we really know what we want, or do we just think we know what we want. Take a moment to hold this thought in your head, let it swirl around for a moment. In the past month, have you taken the time to really connect with your soul and identify what it really needs? There are two parts to this. The first is the list of easier things to identify: “I want my health to improve”, “I want a new job”, “I want a more harmonious relationship”, etc. The second is the list-behind-the-list: “My soul wants me to release anger and rage at past situations so the body can heal itself”, “My higher self wants me to stop sabotaging myself every time a potential work project with great visibility arises”, “Divinity is showing me a pattern of co-dependency in relationships that needs to be healed.” Sometimes when the first list does not readily manifest, it's a sign that something deeper needs to be healed in order to bring the first desire to fruition.
A second obstacle to manifesting our goals is where we focus our attention and how much time we spend there. It seems to be a human tendency to focus on what is happening in the moment and, more specifically, to focus on the fact that what we don't want is what is happening in the moment. Resistance to that which is is a form of energizing. The current conditions or situation is what it is. Added resistance creates additional energy that fuels the thing you do not want. What would happen if we took all the time and energy spent focusing on identifying all the instances where what we DON'T want appears, analyzing why it is happening, blaming and being angry for its existence, and instead we re-channeled that energy into picturing what it is we DO want to have materialize?
In Pranic Healing, specifically in Kriyashakti®--the practice of power through purification--we find it helpful to make two lists when you want to pave a way for manifesting what you want: the list of goals and the list of obstacles hindering the goals. In doing this, you can focus on and energize the list of goals and wants, while at the same time disintegrating and removing any obstacles that are getting in the way. If you've taken Kriyashakti or Pranic Psychotherapy, you may use the Blue Triangle, White Board, Prosperity and Concertizing Meditation techniques to materialize your goals and projects.
